Ironline Command

★★★★★ 4.5 Editor rating

Ironline Command drops you in charge of a small defensive force and asks you to make every unit count. It's turn-based, grid-driven, and ruthless in the best way — there's no padding, just tight tactical puzzles where positioning and timing decide everything. Each mission can be read in a glance but takes real thought to actually solve.

The touch controls deserve a mention because strategy games often fumble them. Here, tapping a unit shows its range clearly, dragging previews your move, and undo is always one tap away until you commit. It makes planning on a phone feel natural instead of fiddly.

Difficulty ramps hard, and some missions had us restarting half a dozen times, but failure always felt fair. When a plan finally clicks and you hold the line with one soldier to spare, the payoff is enormous. This is a thinker's game, best in slow, deliberate sittings.
