How we decide what lands in our catalogue
People ask us how a game ends up on Ember Pocket, so here's the honest answer: mostly it's curiosity. One of us spots something strange or promising, plays a bit, and if it sticks we pass it around the group.
We deliberately avoid only covering the current hype. If everyone's already reviewing the same five games, we'd rather dig for a small adventure or an odd simulation that deserves eyes on it. Spreading across genres keeps the whole thing interesting for us, too.
There's no checklist of studios we favour and no release schedule we're beholden to. A game goes up when someone has played enough to have a real opinion, not before. Sometimes that's a few days, sometimes a couple of weeks.
And if a game turns out to be dull or broken, we either say so plainly or quietly move on. We're not here to pad out a list — we're here to point you toward things actually worth your time.
